ICYMI: ‘Power to the people’, ‘nothing will deter me from fighting for a good future and your right to free speech’. As with the Twitter deal closed on October 27th, the newly-crowned ‘Chief Twit’ and ‘Twitter Complaint Hotline Operator’ Elon Musk has been tweeting every few hours to update his improvised new ideas about where Twitter is heading.

However, Elon's recent move on Twitter, like the 'notorious' premium feature - the blue badge, has accelerated the expansion of what used to be Twitter's alternatives, many argue that Twitter's recent decisions on information transformation, political integrity, and advertisement allergically deny free speech.

On Tuesday, congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC, Nov 2) tweetedLmao at a billionaire earnestly trying to sell people on the idea that ‘free speech is actually an $8/mo subscription plan,” to which Musk (@elonmusk, Nov 3)replied, “Your feedback is appreciated, now pay $8.”

“$220 billion man who just fired 3700 Americans needs your $8 to turn a profit. Can you spare the price of one cup of coffee to help a billionaire sell your free speech back to you?” from the former Research Director @GQMagazine (@ZaleskiLuke, Nov 3)

Is it time for a better alternative that doesn't require a payment of $8 to buy back free speech? How does social media maintain a de facto public square for all cultures and perspectives in the world while ensuring free speech?

Users have been delusioned by many self-proclaimed “truth speakers”, “anarchists” and “privacy defenders”, without being given the truth of their intentions. However, it is the decentralized network like WireMin, that ensures the above as there are no central servers and no privileged nodes, which eliminates the possibility of data leaks. From a broader view of point, the underlying decentralized network of WireMin naturally ensures equality and democracy of all accounts.

As stated in the WireMin FAQ, “Decentralization is a democratized computing architecture that allows a network to be established by participants with equal rights.” To reiterate, no one in the WireMin network has the privilege over its other peers to execute an account ban, shadow ban, demotion, or any kind of action to interfere with the information and content on WireMin.

At WireMin, free speech is inevitable, not a choice.

WireMin team is a community-governed network of technology-driven members, free from the control of commercial entities or any ‘billionaire mogul’. Technologically WireMin is a self-sustained network established by participants with equal rights, and there are few operations fees occurred thus it does not operate based on a profit-driven model.

As more people search for new social network alternatives, WireMin, the protocol which a decentralized Twitter is built upon, has seen a record number of new users during the past week. Many active Twitter users, as well as fleeing tooters from Mastodon, are flocking to WireMin for a greater degree of free speech freedom and an easier-to-use experience communicating on the “digital square”.

Unlike Twitter, WireMin also offers a fast & easy onboarding process, with no phone number or email address required, users can start exploring and posting straight away.  Decentralized Twitter on top is just the first step for WireMin. Going beyond a Twitter clone, WireMin extends Twitter's 280-character limit with a 600-character limit per post. All forms of files are supported. Feeling like ‘Speaking’ directly to your gang? You can even send Voice Posts. Study finds voice expression conveys more authentic emotional messages than written words.

WireMin has room for improvement. We will take the next step, the third step, and many more towards a decentralized social network for free speech, giving control back to the users. One thing we know is that it's time when we start fighting for a future where our digital homes don't tremble precariously on virtual land controlled by billionaires.
